What is the MSDN Academic Alliance?

MSDNAA is a program affiliated with Microsoft that supplies software to eligible students at no charge for academic purposes. The Faculty of Computer Science pays a subscription fee for CS students to participate in this program.


Who is eligible for this program?

Undergraduates: Registered in at least one Computer Science course that is in progress, including registered work-terms.

Graduates: The above criteria or registered in one of the following graduate programs: Computer Science, Applied Computer Science, Electronic Commerce, or Health Informatics


How do I sign up?

If you meet the above criteria, you already have access.


How do I acquire software?

After authenticating using your CSID, you'll be redirected to Microsoft's website where you will be able to download images of Microsoft software directly.


Other Software

No versions of Microsoft Office are available through MSDNAA, however you can access office through your Office 365 account with Dalhousie. You may also want to check out the selection of software offered by ITS for additional options.
